Zambia-specific focus

Legal context
Betting is regulated in Zambia and the minimum age is 18. Official sources describe responsibility as fragmented across laws and institutions rather than assigned to one verified authority called “LGBZ.” We link to the official sources and distinguish access from local licensing.
From 1 January 2026, the Betting Levy Act introduced a 5% levy charged and paid by betting companies, calculated on client deposits and withdrawals. The older 25% figure referred to an operator presumptive tax on gross takings, not a blanket player withholding tax.
